Heart Garland

Every Monday over on UK Scrappers, the home page has a list of "blog bits" with loads of inspiring ideas for scrapping and other crafts from various blogs.
Last Monday there was a link to a stunning padded heart garland here - http://itsacreativeworld.typepad.com/its_a_creative_world/2009/05/padded-heart-garland.html so I decided to have a go as it's so pretty. It took a week to make mainly because I had to find bits of material (old baby clothes are so handy sometimes) then wait till the weekend to get some ribbon and pretty silver glittery buttons from Be Crafty in Elgin. Everything was cut out and sewn up in 2 evenings and here's the result
I love it and want to make more pretty things like this. I seriously think I'm going to buy one or more of the Sew Pretty range of books from Amazon

SLYMI week 20

Use a pen

woohoo got this done on the day of the prompt, (just 4 hours after getting it) very pleased with myself now that's a speed record for me. This week was to use a pen so I hand wrote the journalling on the tag and doodled on the title.
I also combined it with the challenge #2 over on Scrappers Block and used metal brads on the tag (2 round and one heart)

I've also had a busy week, I finished the second half of my Spotty Dotty Layout. It was originally a stand alone LO but when Daisy came down with chicken pox too I knew I had to make it a double page.

I also made these cute little name signs for the girls room
They're not finished yet, I've still to add some flowers and gems etc to bling it up a bit

A sewn layout

I actually managed to do a layout that wasn't a challenge or a sketch...just a few pitcures that I'd been meaning to scrap for a while. It took about 7 hours to do all the sewing as it's handsewn chainstitch

SLYMI - 19 Scraplift

I managed to finish a layout less than 12 hours after the prompt went up on UK Scrappers which I am very impressed with, I think I've only done that one other time over the past 19 weeks.

this week we had to scraplift another layout from the Scrap Like You Mean It gallery and make sure we credited the original artist so mine was lifted from a scrapper called Coxabey. her layout can be seen here http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=181066

SLYMI week 18

Wow it's week 18 already and I'm still getting the challenges done on time, I am very impressed with myself.

This week the challenge is to scrap the outdoors

I also got my little RAK through the post last week for the sketch challenge on sisterlycreations blog. I am in love with the butterfly and the mother print papers as well as the skeleton leaves

I'm getting a pink BIA for my birthday in 3 weeks time so this is just crying out to be made into some kind of a book
