SLYMI weeks 33-38

Oops I have been forgetting to post here so now have a few weeks to catch up with
Week 38 - Scrap a lesson learned, I scrapped the many photos of my girls after discovering how hard it is to get the 2 of them to sit still long enough to get just one nice photo. The title is one long sentence but with 3 words picked out based on the fabulous line uttered by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight - "why so serious"
Week 37 - Scrap with metal
I used the metal word Love and some brads for this
Week 36 - Scrap something magical
well this was just my 2 looking like princesses at my friends wedding
Week 35 - Scrap a bank holiday weekend
We very rarely have bank hols in Scotland so had to pick the easter holiday
Week 34 - Scrap from the sketch
Week 33 - Scrap a square within a square

Teacher's present and SLYMI week 26

SLYMI Week 26 - Play

this week was scrap with stickers, I'm not a big fan of stickers but had bought a pad from Tesco as the front page looked ok, unfortunately the rest of it was utter rubbish so it was nice to get some use out of them

It's also that time of year again when our peace and quiet is shattered for the next 6 weeks. I made Robyn's teacher a covered notebook and a little kitkat holder in matching paper. I hope she appreciates a little handmade gift as I know not everyone does

SLYMI week 20

Use a pen

woohoo got this done on the day of the prompt, (just 4 hours after getting it) very pleased with myself now that's a speed record for me. This week was to use a pen so I hand wrote the journalling on the tag and doodled on the title.
I also combined it with the challenge #2 over on Scrappers Block and used metal brads on the tag (2 round and one heart)

I've also had a busy week, I finished the second half of my Spotty Dotty Layout. It was originally a stand alone LO but when Daisy came down with chicken pox too I knew I had to make it a double page.

I also made these cute little name signs for the girls room
They're not finished yet, I've still to add some flowers and gems etc to bling it up a bit

SLYMI - 19 Scraplift

I managed to finish a layout less than 12 hours after the prompt went up on UK Scrappers which I am very impressed with, I think I've only done that one other time over the past 19 weeks.

this week we had to scraplift another layout from the Scrap Like You Mean It gallery and make sure we credited the original artist so mine was lifted from a scrapper called Coxabey. her layout can be seen here http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=181066

SLYMI week 18

Wow it's week 18 already and I'm still getting the challenges done on time, I am very impressed with myself.

This week the challenge is to scrap the outdoors

I also got my little RAK through the post last week for the sketch challenge on sisterlycreations blog. I am in love with the butterfly and the mother print papers as well as the skeleton leaves

I'm getting a pink BIA for my birthday in 3 weeks time so this is just crying out to be made into some kind of a book

sketch LO and SLYMI week 16

I found another lovely site with great sketches here http://www.creativelyyours.wordpress.com/ and this is my attempt at sketch number 53. I have so many pages that I'm impatient to get done right now. Using a sketch is a wonderful idea as it takes the time needed to decide where everything is going to go away so you can just get on with it. I've also rediscovered sewing on layouts which is great fun and definitely needed on the ribbon as it was a pain to stick the folds down.

SLYMI Week 16 - scrap in the morning

pain in the bum for me as I'm an evening scrapper. it's the only time I get peace and quiet to do anything so this ended up taking about 5 mornings whereas normally I'd have finished it in an evening

Easter baskets, a Home sign and my SLYMI week 10 effort

HOME sign

Over Christmas I made a cute Yule sign which when the festive season was over it left a bare spot on my wall that was just crying out to be replaced by a similar sign that I can keep up for the other 11 months of the year and this is what I came up with

these are made from a toilet roll middle cut into thirds and covered in pretty paper with a handle and scalloped circle base cut from cardstock. The eggs are really tiny mini eggs - half the size of the normal one which I got from Asda for 99p a bag, Tesco also do them for the same price

SLYMI week 10 - Scrap a funny face

The Scrap like You Mean It challenge has to be the best thing Uk Scrappers have ever done. Run by Shimelle Laing it is simply a different technique or style to scrap in each week. We are up to week 9 now and here are my layouts for it

Week 7 - Use an old photo

Week 6 - Use ribbon

Week 5 - Scrap in black and white

Week 4 - Use the sketch

Week 3 - Use chipboard

Week 2 - use stars or hearts

Week 1 - scrap in your favourite colours
